Powered by Compétences Québec and supported by the Ministry of Education, the Trade Challenge is a friendly competition designed to introduce students to the world of vocational training and the many skilled trades it offers. This regional event is organized with the support of Effet FP, a coalition of the nine vocational training centres in the Eastern Townships whose mission is to promote and highlight the professional training programs available in the region.
From December 3 to 6, 2024, the Trade Challenge welcomed nearly 3,000 Secondary II students from 15 high schools across the eastern part of the Eastern Townships. In a dynamic and engaging environment, students visited a vocational training centre and participated in five hands-on team challenges. Their performance in the activities, combined with their team spirit, earned their school points throughout the day.
At the end of the competition, two schools stood out:

Bromptonville High School was recognized for its outstanding team spirit.

Tournesol High School won the highest number of challenges.
Each school’s student council received a $500 bursary, generously provided by Compétences Québec.
Beyond the prizes, every student was a winner, gaining valuable insight into vocational training programs and discovering promising trades that are in high demand across the region.
